, we are off to a nice start, let's go to steve. >>> we have low clouds coast and bay and in fact some of the that low cloud deck shows some fog inland and temperatures cooled off compared to last week and we get more of that westerly direction. some areas of fog were mainly coast and bay more so inland and it is a dry pattern and it looks like it will be more of a cold system, until mid-week, some low clouds and sun, 39 and 50 oakland, 49 half-moon bay, some temperatures have come up, there is a little bit more moisture and we will stay to the north, but behind that later in the week it looks like it will make it, hazy skies, coastal fog, more so than inland fog. upper 50s and lower 60s, this is not a summertime pattern but we'll see more compared to the coast which is a flip flop of what we saw in the last couple of weeks. not much change, it looks like late thursday early friday we are one and done and it will be cold and windy it looks like. >>> all right, steve, thank you very much. coming up, the battle over gun control is heating up. >> in the coming weeks we will use whatever p

days, i think one day this week, it was up to 50 minutes. 7:08. let's go to steve. >> thank you, sal. >>> good morning. a little bit more fog on this friday morning. patrick redwood shores says a little bit around san mateo, fc, foster city, but clear south of the bridge. so for some there's pockets of it. i know on the hayward side there's fog. concord, livermore, napa, santa rosa. yesterday, it was the north bay. patchy fog but hazy and warm. mostly sunny. higher clouds. next rain, thursday, friday. next thursday, friday. although it's looking more like a colder system than a rainy system. we need the rain. if you thought where is the breeze, there has not been much. others in the east bay, have a pretty good offshore wind continuing. that for shom the offshore breeze is in place. that means the coast has really nice weather. temperatures on the lows are even warmer that morning than yesterday it will be sunny. mostly cloudy. there's some higher clouds. i think most of those day towards more central california. 30s for some. 49. redwood city, san rafael is at 41. livermore is 32. s
of places. >> that's right, guys. 237, we're gonna start there. steve has been telling us about the fog. we could see this commute rather clearly and now, it kind of looks like a big foggy mess. it looks like we're looking in the middle of a clog. the sunol grade, we can't show you 101 in san francisco. our san rafael camera is all fogged out. let's take a look at the bay bridge. not thick fog here. peace a -- that's a 15 to 17- minute delay. let's talk about contra costa county. pleasant hill, moderate traffic. the drive time between hayward isive ceasing, 20 minutes from 238 to mowry avenue. no major problems on the way. it will still be slow. >>> we have a lot more in the way of clouds. inland temperatures had to deal with some fog. cooler temperatures. even though inland areas, double whammy here. it will be mostly sunny. but that fog heads back to the coast mainly in the 50s. unlike last week, upper 60s to near 70. tomorrow more fog, hazy sunshine. thursday, friday we'll get light rain in here. this is a colder system. it looks like it will be one and done. we start to need some rain.
jose. let's go to steve. >>> mostly cloudy out there. local clouds. kind of lift a little bit over 900, 1,000 feet. probably no drizzle. and then some higher clouds coming in from a weak system. the combination of the two, gonna give us the mostly cloudy day. 50s on the highs. i think we'll get a break tomorrow in advance of the system that will be here thursday. but turning colder, colder on friday. just so you know, it will be a shock to the system here. it will go from a foggy summertime pattern, a lot of low clouds and fog. that may give us sprinkles and very light showers. i doubt much will happen. mainly a lot of cloud cover. it's really ramped up the fog bank. that means temperatures are gonna stay on the cool side. low clouds, local drizzle. and then this afternoon, the combination of low a and -- low and high clouds. 40s on the temperatures. a couple of 30s to the north. 40s to 50. 49 half moon bay. but with the toking in place, it might even -- with the fog in place, it might feel colder. one system doesn't make it. but this next one that's the one coming out of gulf of alask
a look. let's go to steve. >> our system is moving in for some areas to the east and south. its been mostly clear but the clouds are rolling in. it's not a very strong system, it's a cold one. we have had some rain, napa, marin. up toward santa rosa. about a quarter, three quarters of an inch but that's been to the north. system doesn't have a lot of moisture so it'll only be hit and miss. for those who maybe have travel plans to boston or new york you may want to wait it out. a huge system will come out and they are looking for two to three feet of snow. just to give you a heads up. this system, then we will break and then the next part rotates in, that's the cold air.  30s and 40s on the temperatures, some of them, this will go up, some of the cloud cover starting to comen. napa is 11 degrees warmer. there is the system that will give us a lot of clouds and a little bit of rain. winter weather starts at 10:00 a.m. not a lot of snow but the wind is up over the passes and some of the ridges and then snow source showers on friday. for us today highs in the low 50s to the north or u

. climber steve smith from sydney, australia was practicing avalanche rescue techniques with a group when all of a sudden this starts coming down mount dixon. looks like an avalanche, except this is rocks. >> oh, my god! oh -- ah -- ah. >> you saw that little red shack right there? that is where the group of climbers were staying. this is 650 feet away. almost taking that thing down and the group with it. >> man is that is nasty. now video came out last month of this same rock slide from above. pictures that gives you the idea of the size of this thing. look at that. >> nothing of this size has happened at this national park in 20 years. the largest recent rock fall happened in 1991 they said that thing was what happened in recent force. you have to imagine what did this group of climbers do? >> the next day they had to be air lifted out of there. nobody was hurt, but they got dangerously close to these rocks. >> no my god. >> oh, ah, ah. >> i think we can agree that pilots are skilled individuals especially when they have to fly in conditions like this. these are coming into the airport
